THE THEORY OF ECCLESIOLOGY

This is a modification of the theory of Nationalism, making the church the nation of God. The elect make up the church, but no particular church organization (denomination or group of churches) is the elect. This doctrine is held by those who believe that they are the only true church and that it makes them, as a church, God's elect. As with nations, God may chose to use one denomination, church, or body for a particular task. This does not single them out for special favors from God, as others will have tasks that are equally important to God. People from all denominations can be saved, as Jesus Christ is the source of salvation and not church membership.
