THE THEORY OF FORESEEN FAITH
The theory of Foreseen Faith is a major theory in the doctrine of
election. It is accepted by a large percent of Christian scholars
today. It is one of two theories that comprise the central focus of
this study. Therefore, only a brief description of this theory will
be given at this time.
This theory is based upon three axioms:
The salvation of individuals is the result of their choice, making
individual salvation a matter of choice rather than divine appointment.
Election is based upon God's foreknowledge rather than the enforcing
of His will upon mankind.
Election is conditional, based upon the acceptance of Jesus Christ and not the determination of God.
