OTHER DUTIES

The pastor has many other duties to perform. The Bible clearly teaches that he is to be a public servant, (performing religious or charitable functions), leader of worship, visitor of the sick, leader in benevolence functions, and minister to the hurting. These functions are to be preformed by all Christians, lead by the pastor.

CONCLUSION

The work of the pastor is broad and difficult. Priorities must be set to accomplish the work. This brief study of the pastor's role shows the pastor primary role should be as a feeder of sheep. Most of his work can be carried out, if he dedicates himself to this task. 75% of a pastor's time should be spent in this area, 10% in evangelism, 10% in administration, and 5% in other duties. Another study will reveal how the church family (priesthood) should help the pastor in the work of the church.
